Francesca & Nathan’s Mountains Country House Wedding

Francesca and Nathan’s gorgeous Mountains Country House Wedding, Maidstone, Kent, just a few days before Christmas, and what a fabulous festive day it was.

On the morning of the wedding, I arrived at Francesca’s parents’ house, where the bridal party were preparing for the day. I used the time to snap some detail and getting ready shots, before joining Nathan and the groomsmen, ahead of the ceremony at Mountains Country House.

Dressed in his uniform, Nathan proudly completed his wedding attire, with a watch, which was a gift from Francesca.

With Nathan being in the army, needless to say he was early, while Francesca arrived a few minutes (fashionably) late. We still had time for a few group photos at the venue ahead of the ceremony, before agreeing that we couldn’t keep Nathan waiting any longer.

Francesca removed her red cape and wowed guests with her choice of lace and tulle A-line gown, which was lovingly created by her mum, Sheena. An intimate gathering of 60 guests joined Francesca and Nathan in the Clarke Somers Room for the beautiful ceremony. There were definitely a few moments of laughter as Nathan hastily repeated his vows. Perhaps he was trying to make up for the few minutes that Francesca was late!

The reception boasted so many amazing finishing touches. The tables and place names were carved from wood, while gifts for the children included colouring books, crayons and a drinks jar filled with sweets. The fabulous naked wedding cake was made by Francesca’s aunt Lorna. Definitely a talented family!

Although we woke to wet weather on the morning, this thankfully cleared up by midday, paving the way for group photos without the presence of rain.

After this, I stole the happy couple away for some photos on their own, using the venue’s many stunning locations as their backdrop.

Following this, the newlyweds joined guests in the marquee for the wedding breakfast and evening entertainment. The reception was brilliant from start to finish, and given that it was an intimate gathering, Francesca and Nathan really got to enjoy it with everyone.

Following the speeches and cutting of the cake (check out that sword!), guests joined the happy couple of the dance floor.
