Mandy & Nick’s The Fennes Wedding

I’d met Mandy and Nick a few times previously, one of which was to photograph their pre-wedding session at Hylands House, which you can view here. Each time I met them I was in awe of this amazing couple, so I had no doubt that their Fennes wedding day would be truly special.

Mandy and Nick were married in an intimate ceremony, witnessed by their families and closest friends at The Fennes in Essex. They were then later joined by more friends for the evening celebrations.

Mandy is in a wheelchair as she has lost one of her legs, but nothing holds her back! The couple chose to wear personalised All Star Converse shoes, while Mandy’s second shoe was tied to the back of her chair. The bridesmaids also donned the comfy choice of shoes for the day.

As the ladies prepared for the day ahead, the morning was filled with lots of laughter. It was the perfect sound as I captured some detail shots of the finishing touches.

The accessories weren’t just confined to the ladies! The grooms party wore electric blue cufflinks, effortlessly tying in the colour scheme of the day.

A lady of many talents, Mandy made her own jewellery for her wedding day and presented her bridesmaids with bracelets she had also created. It was a lovely touch and greatly appreciated by her leading ladies.

The day was filled with plenty of surprises and I loved the romantic vintage vases filled with littles posies! The beautiful colours popped in their photos.

The venue boasted a wealth of opportunities for stunning wedding photos! We definitely made the most of the location to get some great shots before the evening celebrations were in full swing.

Mandy incorporated her chair into the day, hanging a ‘Just married’ sign from it. The wheels also got a touch of ‘wedding’ with beautiful flowers and leaves intertwined between the spokes.

I really felt like I’d known Mandy and Nick for years and I was absolutely delighted when they invited me to sit with their guests and join in with the wedding breakfast. It was a lovely touch, which I will never forget.

Jars filled with sweets were the favour of choice, and greatly appreciated by guests both young and old.

A personal favourite of mine, I love the photo of the couple taken at the bottom of the staircase. It was a romantic, quiet moment before they took up their positions for the iconic cutting of the cake and first dance.

The newlyweds attempted to recreate their cake topper pose on the dance floor, which was quite successfully achieved, and one of the many highlights of the night.

I’m truly humbled by this couple and I know they will have a lifetime of happiness creating many beautiful memories together.Click here to add your own text
