Choose a chic colour combo

While red and green are typically associated with the festive season, going to town with this duo may lead to your wedding being more about Christmas than you intended. If you’d prefer a more chic approach, a timeless white and silver colour combination will ensure your wedding is the glamorous affair it deserves to be. From save the dates to suits, there are endless ways to carry your colour choice through.

Stay warm, while remaining stylish

No doubt you’ve chosen an indoor venue to host your wedding but if weather permits, you’ll want to make the most of the gorgeous winter lighting for those wedding photos. While I always endeavour not to keep people outdoors for too long, that doesn’t mean you won’t feel the cold. Bringing blankets and flasks of something hot are a great way to stave off the cold. And why not add a winter element to you wedding day attire? Classic faux fur will add a touch of old Hollywood glamour to your look, while lace gloves will enhance it further. And your leading ladies won’t forgive you for forgetting about their temperature too so add chic cover ups to their dresses to keep the cold at bay.

Deck the halls

With the sun setting earlier, it’s the perfect excuse to up the romantic factor at your reception. It wouldn’t be Christmas without tonnes of candles so fill your venue with them, while fairy light backdrops will instantly add sparkle. No doubt your venue will have their Christmas decorations up so make the most of them. When it comes to naming your tables, incorporate Christmas movie titles, favourite carols or reindeer names.

The festive season offers a wealth of delicious delicacies, which are crying out to be incorporated into your wedding day. From Christmas themed cupcakes, to hot chocolate stations, mulled wine and Christmas inspired cocktails, these are definitely one of our favourite ways to add a festive touch to a wedding. For your main course, classic turkey and ham is a popular choice, while other seasonal dishes including duck and beef will go down well with guests.

Fabulous festive favours

And when it comes to favours, nod to the beauty of the spectacular season. From snow globes to candy canes, personalised Christmas tree decorations and gingerbread men, your options are plentiful and such a fun and easy way to add a festive touch. For the grand finale, a spectacular fireworks display or sparkler send off are guaranteed to create a treasured memory for guests.
